Cook time: 6 hours          Prep time: 25 minutes                 Serves: 7-8 People

Ingredients

1 pork shoulder on the bone

Rub:

1 tablespoon of paprika

1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of mustard powder

Salt & Pepper

Olive oil

Sauce:

3 cups of tomato ketchup

1 cup of cider vinegar

1 cup of brown sugar

1 cup of water

2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon onion powder

2 teaspoon garlic powder

2 teaspoon mustard powder

Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients for the rub in a bowl and mix together. Rub this over the pork and leave to rest in the fridge.

  2. Combine your ingredients for the sauce in your slow cooker or pot that you will be cooking in.

  3. Place the pork in the sauce.

  4. If you are cooking in the slow cooker then this can be done on a low heat for 8 -9 hours

  5. In the oven cook at 140 for 6 hours covered with a lid or tin foil to keep the moisture in.

  6. Once cooked this should pull apart

  7. We like to serve it with a brioche bun and some homemade chips, salad and coleslaw but it’s very versatile and can be served anyway you fancy.
