Flank Steak

Cook time: 5 minutes for medium rare vary depending on how you like it

Prep time: 10 minutes Rest time: 4+ hours Serves: 4-5 people


2lbs of flank steak

300ml Red wine vinegar

2 Garlic cloves

2 table spoons soy sauce

1 cup of honey

Salt & Pepper to season



  1. Season your steak with salt & pepper

  2. Mix your ingredients for the marinade together in a bowl

  3. Place the steak in the marinade for 3 – 12 hours in the fridge (the longer the better)

  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and place on a high heat (you can use a BBQ or a pan on high heat

  5. Cook the steak for 2 minutes on each side and then place on a low heat until cooked to your liking

  6. Allow the steak to the rest

  7. When slicing flank steak slice against the grain of the meat at an angle and thinly

This steak is a family favourite in the Doyle house and goes with the fussiest of eaters. We usually serve this with salad and new potatoes or baby potatoes in the summer and in the Winter, we go back to the classic mushrooms and creamy mash.
